Identifying builders violating rules

The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) has decided to take up a joint inspection with the traffic police to identify places where builders have violated cellar constructions and take immediate action for demolition of such illegal structures.

The MCH Commissioner, Sanjay Jaju, who held a meeting with the Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Tejdeep Kaur Menon, and other senior officials here on Wednesday, also proposed to conduct a city-level joint coordination meeting with the traffic police every fortnight to sort out traffic related problems.

Mr. Jaju said top priority would be given to road-widening at important and busy corridors like the Charminar-Falaknuma, Rajiv Gandhi Statue at Somajiguda to Raj Bhavan, Punjagutta to Ameerpet and other places like Chandrayangutta, Nalgonda, Greenlands and Nagarjuna Circle crossroads. About 44 traffic junctions would be improved for ensuring free flow of traffic. The Vigilance and Enforcement Department too has been asked to gear up their machinery and work closely with the traffic police, a press release said.
