It proved to be a blessing in disguise for the park as officials are working hard to make it more attractive. The park had seen days when it used to be packed with visitors. Their number came down subsequently with MCH authorities not showing much interest in it.
By July-end, the visitors will have an opportunity to witness the new changes as sprucing up has started already, senior MCH officials told City Express. The musical fountains, the first to be installed in Andhra Pradesh in 1994 became a major source of attraction for the visitors then. But it became defunct later on. For the last two and half years, the fountain remained dead.
"Our first priority is to restore the musical fountains," officials said. The other works include setting up a toy train. The water fall/fountain near Dr Marri Chenna Reddy memorial will also be taken up for repairing. Large-scale tree plantation will be taken up.
