Oman Air launches flights

Oman Air hosted a grand function at the Taj Palace here to commemorate the launch of its services to Delhi.

The gala dinner, attended by senior officials from Oman Air, Omani media, dignitaries from the Indian Civil Aviation Authority, members of the travel trade and the local press, was hosted by Oman Air's Chief Executive Officer Abdulrahman Al Busaidy.

A similar function was held in Hyderabad on Thursday to celebrate the launch of Oman Air service to Hyderabad.

Oman Air commenced its Muscat-Delhi non-stop flights on June 2 with new generation B737 aircraft. The airline will operate four non-stop services a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, departing Delhi at 1615 arriving Muscat at 1735. The flight from Muscat will leave at 1100 and arrive in Delhi at 1515.

According to Oman Air officials, the timings are carefully chosen to suit the business travellers and also families.

The addition of Delhi on its network brings the total number of Indian destinations served by the airline to six. The other Indian destinations served by Oman Air are Mumbai (10 flights a week) Kochi (7 flights a week). Thiruvananthapuram (7 flights a week) Chennai (7 flights a week) and the recently added Hyderabad (3 flights a week).
