Reviewing the works at a meeting with the executive engineers, the Commissioner instructed the staff to take up the works on a war footing in view of the onset of monsoon. Private cable agencies and HMWS&SB have dug up about 135 kms road in different localities of the twin cities. He also directed the staff to take up the desilting of storm water drains.

The Additional Commissioner (Works), Harshwardhan said that pre-monsoon desilting of nalas have been taken in 42 packages, of which 14 packages are mechanised and the rest were manual handling.

In order to speed up the completion of works and decentralisation of powers, Sanjay Jaju has decided to delegate more financial powers to Zonal Additional Commissioners for maintenance of works in their jurisdiction.

He asked them to take up the inspections everyday during the early hours between 5 am and 9 am to ensure that no potholes are seen on the main roads.
