All the professionals to be hired will be US citizens and domain experts, who will man the company's operations in the US that mainly cater to the United Technologies Corp (UTC) group of companies, especially in aerospace.
UTC, a $40-billion group, is an equity partner in Infotech, a global design engineering, geospatial and IT Services company.
Infotech already has 120 US citizens working for it in America out of 3,400 associates in 17 locations globally, including five development facilities.
Having completed over one million person hours on aerospace projects, Infotech has gained extensive domain knowledge in aerospace engineering. Its team of more than 500 engineers is the world's largest independent offshore engineering organisation.
Infotech recently opened three dedicated Offshore Development Centres (ODCs) for some of the largest aerospace companies in the world. Last month Infotech set up a state-of-the-art centre of excellence for Airbus Platform at its facility in Hyderabad. The centre has 110 people doing work on the Airbus range of products. The company, which has been working with several Tier-1 suppliers of Airbus for two years, sees a potential to execute $5 million worth of design engineering, technical publications, verification and validation, embedded and software projects on designated Airbus programmes in the current fiscal. Infotech, which is a level 4 supplier to Boeing, is already working on developing a maintenance module for Boeing 787. The company is also working on Airbus A380. It also executed works on Airbus 330s, 340s, 350s. They include works on spoilers, landing gear and lighting systems.
