Japan to back Hyderabad projects

A six member Japanese team from Pacific Consultant International, Tokyo, headed by the Chairman of General Council Liberal Democratic Party and MP Fumio Kyuma, met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at his camp office here today and offered support for the Outer Ring Road (ORR) project.

Dr Reddy told the delegation that if any reputed concern or foreign agency came forward to complete the ORR at the earliest, it would be offered the project through competitive bidding.The team evinced keen interest in the proposed ORR, Knowledge Corridor and cluster development in Hyderabad metro area. Mr Kyuma said he was very much impressed with IT development in Hyderabad. Stating that the ORR project was very important, he offered to support the project. The MP also invited the Chief Minister to visit Japan.

Dr Reddy said the government was keen that the first phase of the ORR should be completed in 24 months and the entire project by June 2008. He had asked the Japanese organisation to submit a detailed project report by the end of January 2006.
