Though Microsoft has begun shipping Dynamics CRM 3.0, it is to be formally launched next month, Satya Nadella, corporate vice president, Microsoft Business Solutions Product Development said here on Tuesday. a team of 50 engineers at the IDC had worked on developing the applications which work on the Office platform. The CRM 3.0 package is targeted at the estimated 1.8 million SMEs in India. The application brings together Outlook for email, the sales and marketing functions and and collaborative sales. Microsoft’s engineers in Hyderabad had developed the software for integrating the various features.
While Microsoft will be selling a traditional version of the software, which customers can install on their servers, Microsoft would also be using the partner-model in India, in which the company’s partners will offer the software as a service on the web.
