World Urdu conference in Hyderabad

A three-day World Urdu Conference will be held in the city from January 14. More than 60 scholars, intellectuals, writers and poets from India and abroad will take part in the conference, sponsored by the 'Siasat' Urdu daily. 150 foreign delegates are also expected to take part in the conference, in which nine seminars on different linguistic and literary topics would be deliberated upon. Addressing mediapersons yesterday, Conference President and Urdu daily 'Siasat' Chief Editor Zahid Ali Khan said the conference will be inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh Governor Sushilkumar Shinde at the Jubilee Hall here and Union Food Processing Minister Subodh Kanth Sahay will be the chief guest. Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and his Karnataka counterpart Dharam Singh along with noted scholar of UAE Juma Al Majid will be participating in the inaugural session.
