L&T Infotech IPO likely

L&T Infotech, the software solutions and services arm of construction major Larsen & Toubro has announced that it is planning to go for an initial public offer (IPO) in FY08.

L&T Infotech had clocked a revenue of $182 million for the fiscal 2005-06. Their aim is to raise the topline to go past $250 million in the current fiscal and with this rate we are planning to touch $1 billion by 2010.

The Bangalore technology campus which was inaugurated by the company at the Whitefield area in the city envisages an investment of Rs 100 crore and has a seating capacity of 2000 people, with an option to extend this to 3000 seats. According to the company this is part of the major expansion plan for the construction of four new software development centres across the country with an investment of Rs 600 crore.

The company had six development facilities located in Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune and Mysore. Besides, L&T Infotech had opened a design engineering centre at Faridabad one and half month back with a capacity of 800 people. The company is planning to expand the facility in three phases. Presently, international business accounts for more than 90% of the company's total business. Some of the clients of the company include Freescale, Motorola, Traveller, Gilette and Citigroup.
