AMR has signed a 70:30 JV agreement with Malaysian firm Malind Infra to build luxury apartment complex at Kompally in Hyderabad.
AMR is a diversified company, they are taking up realestate ventures in India. Recently, they had outbid major players to get a precious piece of land in Bangalore and the construction has started there. The company has executed many infrastructure projects in Nepal for L&T. Its clientele includes Gannon Drunkenly, Bridge & Roof, Madras Cements, Visakha Cements, Grasim Cements and Bharat Electronics. The company is slowly diversifying its business model without diluting core competence in the mining and civil engineering sectors.
AMR is a major supplier of coal. The major users of imported coal in south India will be thermal plants and cement plants on the coast. Private sector players have begun talks with AMR to work out long-term arrangements for supply of coal.
