IT company Cognizant Technology Solutions today got 40 acres of land alloted by the state government on the city outskirts for its expansion plans.
Cognizant, a 1.42-billion dollar company, had invested Rs 35 crores and employed 2,250 people at its Hyderabad Development Centre
A Memorandum of Understanding to this effect was signed between the state IT Secretary K Ratna Prabha and Cognizant India Vice-Chairman Lakshmi Narayan in the presence of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekha Reddy and IT Minister Sabitha Reddy here.The land has been earmarked at Adibatla village in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district. Cognizant, a 1.42-billion dollar company, had invested Rs 35 crores and employed 2,250 people at its Hyderabad Development Centre, to provide IT solutions for global clients in financial services, health care, information, media and entertainment industries.
The company is on an expansion mode to meet growing customer needs in North America, Europe, South America and Asia. Under the expansion plans, the company was planning to invest Rs 330 crores on its facilities, construction of fully-owned techno complex and add over 20 lakh sq feet space for over 12,000 new employees by 2012.
