A Newer version of Cyberabad Times is now available.

Outskirts? No more.

A revolution similar to the one that catapulted a rather nondescript Madhapur into a most sought-after real estate destination is set to sweep either sides of Mumbai old highway which were once empty expanse rocks and considered outskirts. And like in Madhapur, Information Technology is what is expected to ignite the spark here as well.

According to an estimate, the proposed IT parks at Raidurg and Manikonda together could have 8 million sq. ft. built-up area and provide working space for 50,000 persons.

Information Technology Parks at Raidurg Manikonda, Tellapur, Gopanpally are likely to metamorphose these places beyond recognition. According to APIIC Raidurg has a great potential as it ideally sandwiched between the already buzzing IT spaces of Madhapur and Gachibowli and located in the middle point between Toli Chowk and Lingampally.

Given the proximity with the Hi-tech City, it is separated by the Secret Lake on one side and a happening Gachibowli on the other, Raidurg has started attracting the attention of property holders and is a witness to a spurt in construction activity. The vast expanses available between Raidurg and Manikonda, presently lying vacant and unattended to, could be buzz with unprecedented activity.

According to an estimate, the proposed IT parks at Raidurg and Manikonda together could have 8 million sq. ft. built-up area and provide working space for 50,000 persons.

Like in the case of Madhapur, the advent of such huge IT infrastructure, employment of such huge workforce and scores of ancillary jobs to attend, would throw up the demand of support infrastructure in the form of accommodation, eateries, shops, recreation and all, it is reasoned. All these IT parks will have to be in place in the next three years with deadlines on completing 50 per cent of the work to be completed by the end of this year and the re st in the next two years.

While Madhapur has already turned home for cyber related activities, Gachibowli too is right on track. The present employment figure at Madhapur (including Cyber Tower) and Gachibowli easily crosses 45,000 while another 50,000-strong work force is expected to be deployed shortly, according to the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation.

Accoding to APIIC around half-a-lakh more jobs in the next few years will mean a renewed thrust on buying and selling of plots, flats and commercial spaces. That way, irrespective of new software parks at different parts in the city, Madhapur will retain its premier position followed by Gachibowli.
