While charging the previous Mr.Naidu's government with having gifted away land to private parties including IMG Bharata for a song, the current Mr.Reddy's government too has given away about 4,226 acres of prime land to various organisations either free of cost or at a throwaway price.
The companies who got free land or land at a cheaper price include Google, Emmar, Apollo, Wipro, Raheja, Indu Projects
Assessed by market value, the value of such land given away would total about Rs 5,500 crore, sources estimated.The YSR government has justified the land given to some organisations by invoking Board Standing Order (BSO) 24. Under this order, "government land can be alienated for public purposes like schools, temples, choultries, roads and office buildings of local bodies on payment of full or concessional value or free of cost."
Invoking this order, the YSR regime has given away free land to the following organisations:
200 acres for Ratnala Aabharanala Park
100 acres for pharma university
670 acres for IT Parks
104 acres for Raheja Corporation
107 acres for Wipro Technologies
and 1,100 acres for a Dubai IT company
One acre was given to Don Basco Society in Visakhapatnam for Rs 50,000
For Rs 3 lakh an acre to the following:
Lakkireddy Bal Reddy Charitable Trust at Mylavaram in Krishna district (7.2 acres)
19 acres for Ramkey Engineers
26 acres for DLF New Delhi
19 acres for Embiyans
65 acres for Indu Projects at Kukatpally, Hyderabad.
At Rs 14 lakh an acre when the market rate is almost Rs one crore per acre
59 acres were given to 14 IT companies in Vizag
57 acres for Satyam Computers in Vizag
285 acres for Emmar Properties in Gachibowli
100 acres for Mega Chemical IT and Hardware
50 acres for Gundeva Properties (Vizag)
20 acres for Apollo Healthcity (Vizag)
seven acres for Yashoda Healthcity (Vizag)
seven acres for Care Healthcity (Vizag)
100 acres for the Aga Khan Foundation in RR district
30 acres for Google in RR district
1,000 acres for Genome Valley
12 acres for Amusement Development Corporation.
