Rockwell Collins Hyderabad Center
Rockwell Collins, leader in the design and support of aviation electronics will set up its design and development centre in Hyderabad hiring the local talent.
The centre to be located in Madhapur will start its operations from October this year. Raj Aggarwal, Vice President, Global Technology & Special Projects, Rockwell Collins said the centre would concentrate on the key areas of display and flight management applications initially while in the second phase it would expand the operations to the multi-function applications.
“The idea is to use the local talent entirely and engaging fresh engineering graduates,” he said. However, initially 30 per cent of experienced professionals would be sourced. In five years, the centre would have 500 employees. He was of the view that Avionics was the next in thing with job opportunities bound to increase. He said there is a likelihood of five-fold increase in the number of planes to be sold in India and China and that would pave way for large number of trained professionals in the sector.
“Access to high quality professionals coupled with growth are the reasons for the company to start its operations in Hyderabad,” he said. He said Rockwell Collins already has presence in India through the defence equipment and this was bound to increase with the relations between India and the US turning positive. Nearly 300 engineers in HCL were already engaged with Rockwell’s offshore design and development.
Rockwell Collins’ commercial Systems provides avionics and cabin electronics for business aircraft operators and airlines as well as manufacturers of both air transport and business aircraft. Rockwell Collins’ Government Systems provides defence electronics products and systems - including communication, navigation and integrated systems for airborne, ground and shipboard applications - to the U.S. Department of Defence, foreign militaries and manufacturers of military aircraft and helicopters.
